NEW YORK - Today, Lampix, a developer of tabletop augmented reality hardware and software, is excited to announce its collaboration with Konica Minolta Laboratory Europe within the framework of demonstration activities.

This collaboration is a result of a workshop in which the companies discussed the capabilities and potential applications of Lampix technology. More specifically, Konica Minolta Laboratory Europe would like to further explore projection to surface and object sensing as part of the Proof of Concept for a digital workplace at its headquarters in Brno, Czech Republic. Execution of this project will also include the integration of a camera supporting higher resolution document for optical character recognition (OCR). “In Konica Minolta Laboratory Europe”, says Jiri Vasek, Senior Research Specialist Human Computer Interaction at Konica Minolta Labs Europe. “We strive to disrupt the way people work with printed documents in the digital workplace. Augmented reality projection combined with robust OCR technology seems to be the right direction.”
